In some cases, eg. when probing dimensions within the same general issue, a standard question can cover 2-4 topics. In other cases, a composite question is really comprised of a number of standard questions.  Please ask Nexus for confirmation when the exact questions are being formulated – we may be able to save you money.

Open-ended questions usually incur an additional charge of around $500 on a national basis to cover their greater processing and coding.

Quotations for subsamples such as main grocery buyers and young adults or boosters to increase the sample, eg. to cover rural areas, are available upon request.

Discounts are given for questions repeated on subsequent surveys and in some situations for regular on-going business with the same client.

Classification Data

Standard classification data, collected at no charge, covers:

Respondent's Age & Sex
Respondent's Occupation
Household Composition
Respondent's Income Band
Postcode
Household Head's Occupation
Work Status
Household Head's Income Band

This usually includes checking the presence of children and whether the respondent is a main grocery buyer.

Timing

Fieldwork is run on approximately a fortnightly basis depending upon clients’ requirements.

Questions can be finalised up to noon on the day before fieldwork commences. Results and a summary report are available about a week later.

As a special service, Nexus can also provide flash results the morning after fieldwork.

Quality Control

Fieldwork is validated under IQCA procedures which are audited annually. Quality of response is assisted by limiting interview length to less than 15 minutes on average so as to prevent respondent fatigue.

Fieldwork, data processing and analysis are all conducted in-house at our Abbotsford office so as to maintain quality control, confidentiality and speed of results.
